Honestly I never saw or percieved the Sikh angle of the partition. Partly because we were never told by our history tellers. In my analysis of the partition and its effects I always counted Sikhs with the Hindus. But it seems no one ever asked and niether it was ever told what the sikhs felt about the partition and did they ever got thier part in the partition. But may be thats just my lack of information and undestanding.

The Sikhs were offered their separate homeland, just like the Muslims, by the British in 1947. Master Tara Singh, a prominent Sikh politician, was instrumental in turning the offer down, in consultation with Jawahar Lal Nehru.

I loved reading this article, thanks a ton. I plan to get this cutting enlarged, framed and present it to our Gurudwara Sahib’s library in Washington,D.C. They are going to love it! Great work Sidhusaheb(although I detest using the last name as a mode of addressing)

The pleasure is all mine! It would make me so happy if you do that.

I picked this as my user id. because this is what my friends at college used to call me, with affection, probably because I am also used to being polite to others, as far as possible. You are welcome to not use the last mode of address, if that is what you prefer.

If it was given to you by your college buddies with affection, then I am also cool with it. I too like to treat others with respect and politeness, and Sidhusaheb is what you shall be addressed as

Sat Sri Akal janaab. Thank you so much for the compliment! I would consider linking to your blogs, but it seems that all of these mainly have commercial content. I’ll do that gladly if you ever start writing a blog with content of a more personal nature and I hope you’ll let me know when you start writing one.

Once again, thanks for dropping by!
