Quote of the Year - II

"Jihadi terrorism may not exactly be the flip side of communal violence, but communal violence and communal disharmony create an environment where jihadi terrorism can flourish."

I think that extremists of any kind will seize opportunities to create more terror wherever possible.

It becomes less about a 'cause' or a 'religion' than a total campaign for power and control....communal disharmony could be seen as another opportunity to try and seize control.

Communal violence and disharmony help provide fresh recruits to terrorist outfits.

A potential recruiting pool, for sure!!

Although I don't agree with or sympathise with terrorism ( revenge may feel like justice, but two wrongs don't make a right ), I can understand and sympathise with unrest within a community, ( if that makes sense ) ie. where certain groups are shunned or basically not given the same rights and opportunities as others..at some stage there's bound to be rebellion.

If the root cause(s) of unrest are addressed, it would help address the root cause(s) of terrorism...or at least, lessen the number of folks willing to join terrorist outfits, definitely!

Thanks for the link..food for thought..

Hope your weekend's a peaceful. relaxing one... Mines another working one...a whole weekend of peace and relaxation coming up next weekend, hopefully!! :D
